Prof Dr Dede Rosyada Elected as the Chairman of PTKIN Rectors Forum

Bandung, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA is elected as the Chairman of Islamic institutions of higher education (PTKIN) Rectors Forum of Indonesia for 2017-2019 periods, replacing the former chairman Prof Dr M Mukri of UIN Lampung.

 The election was unanimously carried out by all 56 PTKIN in Bandung, on March 16th-17th, 2017.

Dede in his speech expressed his gratitude for the trust given by all PTKIN Rectors to himself.  He also appreciates the former chairman who has been working hard in promoting PTKIN (UIN / IAIN / STAIN).

“Hopefully, PTKIN will be more advanced and becoming the center of excellence, both national and international,” he said.

Before becoming a Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof Dr Dede Rosyada formerly served as the Dean of The Faculty of Tarbiya and Teaching Sciences UIN Jakarta, 2005-2009 and 2009-2011, Acting Rector for IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saefudin Jambi, 2011, and Director of Islamic Higher Education (Ministry of Religious Affairs Indonesia), 2011–2014.

The bespectacled man was born in Ciamis, West Java, October 5^th, 1957. He completed his undergraduate study at IAIN Jakarta, 1985, majoring in Islamic Studies, Master program at IAIN Jakarta, 1991, majoring in Islamic Studies, Doctoral program at IAIN Jakarta, 1998, majoring in Islamic Studies. Additionally, he also attended the Post Doctoral Program at McGill University, Canada, 2002 and Visiting Scholar at Ohio University, USA, 2003. (usa)
