Preserving Islamic Scholarship: UIN Jakarta and P2I Finalize Hybrid Learning and RPL Tracks for Boarding School Leaders
Rectorate Building, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta convened a high-level coordination meeting to finalize the operational steps of its educational partnership with the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Leaders Association (MPP P2I). Held at the Rectorate Building on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the strategy session represents a concrete institutional commitment to expanding higher education access while upgrading human resource capacities within traditional Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).
The strategic meeting was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, the Head of the Admissions Center, Rachmat Baihaky, Ph.D., the Head of the Academic Department, Rahmawati, and Academic Analyst, Muhammad Fahmi Iqbal. Also in attendance were Cooperation Analysts, Noviati and Iswahyuda, alongside the Secretary and Coordinator of the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), Dr. Akhmad Saehudin and Jejen Jaenudin, Ph.D.
The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, emphasized the vital importance of this synergy as a core part of the university's institutional mission. In his view, UIN Jakarta carries a significant mandate from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Muslim community to ensure the sustainability of advanced Islamic studies.
"We cannot apply pure market logic when it comes to religious study programs. Real strategies and innovations are required to ensure these mandatory theology and philosophy programs continue to thrive and produce intellectuals focused on Islamic studies. One of the definitive solutions is close collaboration with pesantren institutions," he stated.
Partnerships with the boarding school ecosystem are a proven staple at UIN Jakarta. The university has successfully executed various collaborative programs, including mentoring and graduating recipients of the prestigious Outstanding Santri Scholarship Program (PBSB) in direct cooperation with the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Responding to the operational requests submitted by MPP P2I regarding learning efficiency for active boarding school managers, UIN Jakarta has officially approved a hybrid learning blueprint. This framework will be accommodated through a cohort system or specialized executive classes, maintaining a minimum quota of 20 to 25 students per classroom.
The university has also mapped out a structured tuition fee (UKT) framework where priority will be given to mid-tier subsidized categories, while higher tiers will be allocated for general classifications. For postgraduate tracks, UIN Jakarta expressed its readiness to facilitate hybrid classrooms with a capacity of 10 to 15 students for the Master's (S2) level and 5 to 10 candidates for the Doctoral (S3) level under specialized tuition regulations.
Furthermore, the implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program—which translates real-world professional management experience into academic credits—will also mandatorily employ the same cohort framework and minimum enrollment criteria.
Beyond discussing hybrid models and RPL, the follow-up meeting highlighted opportunities for an accelerated Bachelor's to Master's (S1-S2) fast-track program. According to the board's decision, this fast-track framework is currently viable for immediate implementation within the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES).
The finalized operational draft and scholarship schemes will be systematically communicated to P2I executives and officially reported to the Vice Rector for Cooperation to ensure synchronized field execution.
