Diorama Room, UIN Online News - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta sponsored a socialization event held at the Diorama Room on Friday (21/2/2025) for the International Community Service Program (KKN) in Saudi Arabia.

The event was attended by representatives of UIN Jakarta: Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D., Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M); Ade Rina Farida, M.Sc., Head of the Community Service Center (PPM); lecturers; alumni of the International KKN in Saudi Arabia; and students from various faculties who interested in this program.

“This program enables students to apply their acquired knowledge while gaining international perspectives and enhancing their global networks,” Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D. explained during the socialization event

The socializing event included Prof. Muhammad Irfan Helmy, Ph.D., M.A., Lc., the Education and Culture Attaché (ATDIKBUD) of the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the main speaker of the event.

During his speech, students were enthusiastic as indicated by the multitude of inquiries about the methods and preparations required for the International Community Service Program (KKN) in Saudi Arabia.

"Indonesia maintains tight diplomatic connection with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia encompassing the operation of Hajj, Umrah, and Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), hence it is crucial for the execution of International Community Service (KKN)," he gladly informed the students.

The strong ties between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have positioned Indonesian nationals in Saudi Arabia as one of the three biggest Indonesian diaspora communities globally. The substantial Indonesian diaspora presents UIN Jakarta with chances to implement community service initiatives, particularly in education and social welfare. There are eleven locations designated for the community service program in Saudi Arabia:

  1. Indonesian Embassy School of Riyadh (SIR)
  2. Indonesian Embassy School of Jeddah (SIJ)
  3. Indonesian Embassy School of Makkah (SIM)
  4. Indonesian Hajj Affairs Office in Jeddah (KJRI)
  5. Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KRI)
  6. Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia Indonesian (KBRI)
  7. Indonesian Student Association (PPMI)

  9. Islamic mass groups like PCINU and PCIM
  10. Indonesian Expatriate Community in Saudi Arabia: Academician and Researcher
