Preparing for Scopus, FDK UIN Suska conducts comparative study visit at FSH UIN Jakarta

FSH, UIN News Online – In order to prepare Scopus indexed international journals, The Faculty of Da’wa and Communication UIN Suska Riau conducted a comparative study at FSH UIN Jakarta on Thursday (12/02/2021).

FSH UIN Jakarta was chosen as the destination for comparative studies because the faculty has an international journal that was recently indexed by Scopus, namely the Ahkam journal.

In his speech, the Dean of FDK UIN Riau said that currently FDK UIN Riau has four accredited journals, one of which is accredited by Sinta 2, namely the Jurnal Dakwah Risalah.

“We project the Jurnal Dakwah Risalah to be a Scopus indexed journal. We purposely came here to learn about preparations for Scopus as has been achieved by the Ahkam Journal,” said the Dean of FDK UIN Riau Imron Rosidi.

In response, Dean of FSH UIN Jakarta Ahmad Tholabi Karlie said that the development of journals at FSH was included in the strategic plan including Ahkam Journal. “The journal is managed by people who are istiqomah, young people who really maintain the quality of their language. Not only giving notes but also helping the quality of the articles. Even the Rector (Rector of UIN Jakarta-ed) also helped us as Arabic editors," said Tholabi.

He also added that the FSH leadership and journal administrators had prepared in advance by publishing the best articles for the last two years before submitting the journal to Scopus.

“We submit the 10 best qualified articles. This is done because Scopus is very concerned about the quality of articles,” he added.

In addition to conducting comparative studies, the two faculties also signed a memorandum of agreement between FDK UIN Suska and FSH UIN Jakarta in the field of journals quality improvement and other activities agreed by both parties. (usa/sam/mf)
