Preparing for PTN-BH Status, UIN Jakarta's Business Development Center Expands Business Units and Assets

Ciputat, UIN Online News – As UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta advances its transformation toward becoming a State University with Legal Entity Status (PTN-BH), strengthening the university's financial independence has become a strategic priority. The Business Development Center (P2B) plays a central role in this effort by managing the university's commercial ventures, assets, and partnerships.

Since its establishment in 2015, P2B has professionally managed a wide range of university-owned business units. According to the latest figures submitted to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, these enterprises generate an estimated gross annual revenue of more than IDR 200 billion, with an approximate operating surplus of IDR 20 billion.

The business portfolio includes the university's food court, commercial retail spaces occupied by tenants such as Bank Mandiri, Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), FamilyMart, and Janji Jiwa, as well as the UIN Jakarta Hospital, Adia Suite, Syahida Inn, and the Adia Convention Center. P2B also oversees supporting business services, including catering, ticketing, air-conditioning maintenance, official vehicle maintenance, and office stationery procurement.

Head of P2B, Asep Syarifuddin Hidayat, highlighted the university's 42-hectare site in Cikuya, which is planned for livestock development. The project is expected to help supply food for the university hospital and campus hospitality facilities while strengthening institutional self-sufficiency.

Beyond commercial activities, P2B also provides opportunities for student engagement. Among its initiatives are the Live Music Stage at the Fathullah Mosque Food Court, which showcases student talent, and support for the university's KKN In Campus program.

The center applies several business management models, including profit-sharing, leasing, and Build–Operate–Transfer (BOT) schemes. P2B contributes at least 10 percent of the university's tuition fee (UKT) revenue to institutional development. In addition, the Harun Nasution Building is available for public rental under university regulations, with different rental rates applied to external users and members of the university community.
