Preparing for PBAK 2025, Rector Emphasizes Integration of Academic Values and Campus Vision
Lounge Meeting, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta's Campus Academic Culture Introduction (PBAK) for new students of the 2025 cohort is fast approaching. A crucial preparatory meeting for this event took place at the Student Affairs Lounge Meeting on Tuesday (July 29, 2025).
The meeting was led directly by UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., who stressed the importance of comprehensive PBAK preparations, covering the committee, event content, and synergy among supporting units. According to him, PBAK must be an educational event that can deeply introduce UIN Jakarta's values, character, and academic culture to new students.
“PBAK isn't just a welcoming ceremony; it must be an initial learning space for students to understand this campus—its values, its mission, and its development direction. Preparations must be thorough so that this activity is impactful and memorable,” he stated.
In his directive, the Rector also explained that this year's PBAK implementation needs to align with UIN Jakarta's vision and mission, and the aspirations of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Some values emphasized include the Green Campus concept, which aligns with the Ministry of Religious Affairs' ecotheology as a form of integration of knowledge and spirituality, and the spirit of humanity, which aligns with the development of a love-based curriculum. Furthermore, PBAK must also foster an innovative spirit, which is a UIN Jakarta development program.
The event was also attended by Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Head of the Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Bureau (AAKK) Dr. Hj. Sri Ilham Lubis, Lc., M.Pd., Student Affairs Coordinator M. Furqon, M.A., Head of Information and Public Relations Center Zaenal Muttaqin, M.A., and representatives from various work units and faculties.
Student Affairs Coordinator M. Furqon, M.A., added that the 2025 PBAK series will be structured in stages, from the university level to faculties and other supporting units. He expressed hope that this activity will not only convey administrative information but also foster students' awareness of the campus's identity.
“In syaa Allah (God willing), PBAK activities will present material that not only introduces the campus structure but also builds students' understanding of UIN Jakarta's profile and its vision and mission as a moderate, environmentally conscious, and humanistic Islamic university,” he explained.
Currently, the committee is finalizing the activity curriculum and technical implementation of PBAK to ensure it runs effectively. PBAK is expected to be a good start for new students in building relationships, a spirit of learning, and positive contributions to the campus and society.
