Prepare Students to Study Abroad Through the Talent Scouting Program

Ruang Diorama UIN Jakarta, Berita UIN Online- The Language Development Center (PPB) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is holding a talent scouting program aimed at students in semesters 4 and 6. Talent scouting is one of the PPB programs prepared for talented students in the field of foreign languages, especially English and Arabic. Later, students with the highest scores in the talent scouting program will be promoted to join the MORA Overseas Student Mobility Awards (MOSMA).

MOSMA is a form of physical mobility program that provides an opportunity for students to study at a foreign university for one year semester. In 2023, through the MOSMA program, the Ministry of Religion sent 124 selected students from all PTKIN to study abroad and UIN Jakarta succeeded in sending 38 students to take part.

The talent scouting program will be carried out for 2 months in the Language Course building, the first month from 5 to 29 February, students will be given intensive training to deepen their understanding of communicating in a foreign language. In March, students will be directed and guided to be responsive in creating portfolios and personal essays, as well as trained to be able to fluently answer interview questions in English or Arabic.

"With this talent scouting program, it will really support the campus program itself, because UIN Jakarta will realize a world class university which has been delayed for years," said the Deputy Chancellor for Cooperation, Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., when giving a speech. at the opening of the talent scouting program on Tuesday (6/1/2024).

Din Wahid added that UIN Jakarta collaborates with foreign universities is increasingly being improved because apart from providing broad opportunities for students, UIN Jakarta also plans to realize a world class university. Students who successfully take part in the MOSMA program will face global challenges in terms of communication, cultural adaptation, and differences in educational curriculum which will be a great experience for students and can be practiced again on each campus (Nadia Nur Fadilah/Novia Syifaputri Ramadhan)
