PPID UIN Salatiga Visits PIH UIN Jakarta for Public Relations Benchmarking

Diorama Room, UIN Online News - The leaders, public relations team, and Information and Documentation Management Officers (PPID) of UIN Salatiga conducted a benchmarking visit to UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta on Wednesday (May 29, 2024). A total of 20 PPID members from UIN Salatiga participated in the benchmarking session on the management of public relations at UIN Jakarta.

In his welcome address, the Head of the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI) of UIN Salatiga, Dr. Ruwandi, S.Pd., M.A., expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from UIN Jakarta. He emphasized the crucial role of public relations as the front line and spokesperson for every higher education institution.

"From the beginning, we were right to conduct benchmarking at UIN Jakarta, both in terms of public relations and PPID. We hope to follow in the footsteps of UIN Jakarta," he stated.

The Head of the Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) at UIN Jakarta, Zaenal Muttaqin, S.Th.I., M.Ag., explained that PIH was previously divided into three sections: documentation and publication under the general division, information under the academic division, and the central information and public relations division.

"Under the leadership of Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D, all these sections were merged into one body, PIH, under the supervision of LP2M UIN Jakarta," he explained.

Additionally, Zaenal noted that UIN Jakarta recently received an excellent institutional accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN PT). PIH also offers internships for UIN Jakarta students to help ensure the smooth operation of PIH.

"We are now on our third internship cycle," he added.

Zaenal continued, explaining that, in accordance with the Information Transparency Act, PIH UIN Jakarta established a PPID service. The vision is to be the leading information and documentation management officer in providing public services for higher education, supporting UIN Jakarta's vision. Currently, in addition to focusing on PPID, they also focus on information services, event protocols, and university branding in mass media and social media.

"Therefore, PIH also conducts benchmarking visits to other universities such as UGM," he concluded.

The event ended with a group photo and the presentation of souvenirs by PIH UIN Jakarta to the PPID team from UIN Salatiga.
