PLP UIN Jakarta holds workshop on Qalbun Salim Psychotherapy

PLP, UIN News Online – Psychological Service Center (PLP) of UIN Jakarta offers a Qalbun Salim Psychotherapy approach in overcoming Psychological problems that arise in the midst of society. The offer emerged as a conclusion to the workshop entitled “Psikoterapi Qalbun Salim: Pendekatan Psikoanalisis Islam” which presented UIN Jakarta Professor of Islamic Psychology Abdul Mujib as a resource person, Tuesday, (02/25/2020).

Abdul Mujib in his presentation explain that the Qalbun Salim can be an alternative to various theories of psychotherapy that have developed at this time.  “The concept of qalbun salim or salamat al-qalb (salvation of heart, ed.) actually exceeds the concept of mental health. Where in Islam itself, the safety of the soul takes precedence,” he said.

Besides discussing the paradigm of Qalbun Salim's psychotherapy, the workshop also discussed a number of other topics. For example the structure of human consciousness in Islam, the dynamics of human awareness in Islam, Health Psycho-Qalbiyah, Diagnosis of Qalbun Maridh, Qalbun Salim Psychotherapy with Islamic psychoanalysis approaches, Divine catharsis, dream analysis, and Islamic hypnonis.

Meanwhile, the Head of PLP UIN Jakarta Mulia Sari Dewi said that this workshop was relevant to the emergence of anxiety among practitioners and psychology scientists in seeing various psychological problems that arose in the midst of society. “And it looks like it will be better if we use an Islamic approach considering Indonesia is a Muslim-majority country,” she explained.

Furthermore, Mulia hopes that the first Qolbun Salim workshop can be carried out sustainably. The goal is that Qalbun Salim psychotherapy can be applied by psychology practitioners as an alternative to psychotherapy.

The PLP itself, she continued, is committed to providing psychological training services. The training was conducted as a contribution of PLP UIN Jakarta in developing knowledge to the community.

The Qalbun Salim psychotherapy workshop itself was supported by the Faculty of Psychology of UIN Jakarta. The same participation was carried out by the Psychology Student Association or the Banten Region HIMPSI and the Islamic Psychology Association. (usa/zm)
