PLHBH UIN Jakarta holds legal counseling on Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) law
Jakarta, UIN News Online – Center for Public Relations and Legal Aid Services (PLHBH) of UIN Jakarta holds legal counseling on Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) on Wednesday-Thursday, (08/7-8/2019) at House of Eva Hotel, Kebagusan Jakarta.
By raising the theme on “Literasi UU ITE dan Bijak dalam Bersosmed”, this event presents a number of resource persons, among them are Hendri Subiakto (Expert staff, the Ministry of Communications and Information), Ismail Fahmi (IT Expert, the Ministry of Communications and Information), Aminudin Yakub (Indonesian Ulema Council), and Wisnu Wirawan (Cyber crime uinit, Polda Metro Jaya).
The event was officially opened by LP2M secretary Khamami Zada. Khama in his remarks stated the importance of this event for the academic community of UIN Jakarta.
“Academic community of UIN Jakarta community must understand the importance of the ITE Law. In addition, we also have to be wise in using various social media platforms in our daily lives,” said Khama.
In his presentation, Hendri explained Ethics and Regulations on Social Media. According to him, social media is currently flooded various fake newa (hoaxes). “There are four communities that are targeted by hoaxes, namely the majority community, urban communities, educated communities, religious communities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ismail Fahmi invited the academics of UIN Jakarta to be more literate in social media. Because the media has the authority to tell us how to spend money and time, tell us what we need to think about, framing issues, tell us what's interesting, tell us what's important, tell us what's valuable, show us how we should look, give us experience as if it were real about something or someone, and tell a story that can shape the public opinion.
“Therefore, we all must have and use the four media literacy skills, namely use / access, study / evaluate decide / choose, respond / change / create,” he said. (usa/lrf/sam)
