PBSI department explores the thoughts of WS Rendra

FITK, UIN News Online – The Language and Literature Education Department at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (PBSI FITK) UIN Jakarta once again displayed its role role in the field of culture by holding dialogues and discussions across entities, ranging from students, lecturers, cultural observers, community activists, in order to explore the thought of the great writer, WS Rendra through The 6th Literary and Drama Appreciation Week (Pestarama).

The event, which was packaged through the national Webinar room, was successfully implemented. And received a large response and appreciation from cultural activists, especially readers of the works and thoughts of WS Rendra.

By raising the theme on “Membentang Karya dan Pemikiran WS Rendra di Era Pendidikan Digital”, Saturday (06/26/2021), this event invited several competent speakers on the altar of national culture, such as Agus R Sarjono and Irsyad Ridho.

The long process of exploring WS Rendra's thoughts contributed to providing awareness, memory, and new knowledge among young people, especially students. This proves that the consistency of WS Rendra's thinking is still relevant to be brought and presented in contemporary thinking classes.

Several other cultural figures were also prepared to invite participants to explore WS Rendra's thoughts from various perspectives, including Chairman of the Jakarta Arts Council Theater Committee Bambang Prihadi and Secretary General of the Muslim/Lesbumi Cultural Arts Institute Abdullah Wong.

This dialogue and discussion also took place as an opening and introduction to the climax of the Pestarama 6 event, Tribute to Rendra, which had been prepared as a media to give special honor to WS Rendra as one of the most important figures in cultural history. (usa/mf/othrscr)
