PBAK 2026: Rector of UIN Jakarta Emphasizes Technologically Intelligent Students, Wise in Ecology
Main Field, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D. officially opened a series of events for the Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK) of UIN Jakarta 2026 at the Main Field of Campus I of UIN Jakarta, Wednesday (26/8/2026). This year's PBAK carries the theme "Smart in Technology, Wise in Ecology, Realizing the Ulul-Albab Generation for the Nation's Civilization".
In his remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of the readiness of new students in facing the increasingly dynamic challenges of science and technology. UIN Jakarta students are required to not only be capable of mastering digital transformation, but also to uphold scientific ethics and concern for environmental sustainability.
"New students must be able to adapt quickly to the changing times. However, technological intelligence must run in harmony with ecological wisdom," said the Rector in front of thousands of new students.
He added that the formation of the character of Ulul-Albab is the main foothold of UIN Jakarta in producing superior graduates who are globally competitive.
"We want to give birth to a generation of Ulul-Albab who are not only academically superior and intelligent in utilizing technology, but also have moral depth, sensitivity to the environment, and are able to make a real contribution to the nation's civilization," he said.
PBAK UIN Jakarta 2026 was attended by 9,448 new students divided into two waves of University PBAK. The first day of implementation was attended by 6,199 students from FDIKOM (1,318), FST (1,142), FITK (1,108), FAH (925), FU (695), FIKES (492), FPsi (364), and FK (155).
Meanwhile, the second day was attended by 3,249 new students consisting of FSH (1,239), FEB (1,203), FISIP (578), and FDI (229).
It is known that the PBAK UIN Jakarta 2026 series is scheduled to last for five days, namely August 26-30, 2026. The agenda begins with PBAK University on August 26-27, continued with the Faculty PBAK on August 28-29, and closed with the UKM Village event on August 30.
On the first day of PBAK University, the material session presented the Chairman of the MUI for Women, Adolescents, and Family who is also the Former Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Dr. Hj. Amany Burhanuddin Umar Lubis, M.A., Chairman of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia 2026–2031 Nuzran Joher, S.Ag., M.Si., and Content Creator Ahmad Dekatama Putra Zaman, S.H., LL.M. (Pasming Based).
Then on the second day, there will be a lineup of national figures, and academics across fields, Scholars & Experts of Islamic Thought Dr. Yudi Latif, M.A., Ph.D., Deputy Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. H. Bima Arya Sugiarto, S.I.P., and Governor of DKI Jakarta 2025–2030 Dr. Ir. Pramono Anung Wibowo, M.M.
In addition, there will also be a Professor of Water Management at the Faculty of Engineering UI and Founder of the Indonesia Water Institute Prof. Ir. Firdaus Ali, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Chairman of the South Tangerang City DPRD 2024–2029 Maria Teresa Suhardja, B.Sc., and Political Communication Analyst & Media Practitioner Salsabila Syaira, S.I.P., M.I.P.
The opening of PBAK 2026 took place lively with the Reading of the Panca Satya Students, Tree Planting, and Singing the Mars of UIN Jakarta, and attended by the leaders of the rectorate, deans, and academic community of UIN Jakarta.
