Once Again, UIN Jakarta Academics Trusted to Lead Government Agencies
Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta continues to strengthen its presence in the national leadership sphere, with President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka appointing Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., as the new Governor of the Indonesian National Defense Institute (Lemhannas RI). Dr. Ace, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business and Chairman of the UIN Jakarta Alumni Association (IKALUIN), was officially inaugurated at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday (22/10/2024).
His appointment was formalized through Presidential Decree Number 146 of 2024, with Deputy for Apparatus Administration Nanik Purwanti reading the decree during the ceremony. "Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., is appointed as Governor of Lemhannas RI, with the corresponding financial and administrative rights equivalent to the Ministerial level," the decree stated.
Dr. Ace, an alumnus of UIN Jakarta's Department of Arabic Language and Literature, Faculty of Adab, becomes the 18th governor of Lemhannas since its founding in 1965. This institution, which operates under the President's oversight, plays a pivotal role in shaping national leadership and providing strategic counsel to the government.
As outlined on Lemhannas' official website, the institution has three key responsibilities: first, to prepare national leaders with holistic, integrative, and ethical leadership qualities; second, to conduct strategic studies on national, regional, and global issues; and third, to strengthen national values and character.
The appointment of Dr. Ace marks another significant achievement for UIN Jakarta, as he joins a growing list of UIN Jakarta figures trusted by President Prabowo's administration. Just a day earlier, UIN Jakarta professors Prof. Dr. K.H. Nasaruddin Umar (Minister of Religious Affairs) and Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu'ti (Minister of Primary and Secondary Education), alongside alumnus Raja Juli Antoni (Minister of Forestry), were also entrusted with key government positions.
This series of appointments underscores the prominent role that UIN Jakarta continues to play in producing leaders who contribute to national governance and development. (ZM)
