Officially Dispatched, UIN Jakarta Contingent Ready to Compete in PTKIN Student Competition Across Java and Madura
Diorama Room, Harun Nasution Auditorium Building, UIN News Online— Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Send-off Ceremony for student contingents participating in the 2nd Java and Madura Sports, Arts, and Scientific Week (PORSI JAWARA II) among State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) 2026. This briefing event took place solemnly in the Diorama Room of the Harun Nasution Auditorium Building on Thursday (03/08/2026).
The 2026 PORSI JAWARA II event, carrying the theme "Energy of Champions, Harmony of the Archipelago," will take place from September 8 to 13, 2026, at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid (UIN Gus Dur) Pekalongan, Central Java. The competition will feature contingents from 18 PTKIN across Java and Madura. For UIN Jakarta itself, a total of 67 selected members of the academic community from 12 faculties will be dispatched to Pekalongan.
The send-off ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., Head of the General Administration and Personnel Bureau Dr. H. Nanang Fatchurochman, S.H., S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the Academic Division at the Academic, Student, and Cooperation Administration Bureau (AAKK) Rahmawati, S.Psi., M.M., and Head of the Student Affairs Team Muhammad Furqon, S.Pd.I., M.A., along with members of the UIN Jakarta academic community.
Overall, PORSI JAWARA II features 24 competition branches divided into three main categories: sports, arts, and scientific disciplines. In the sports category, UIN Jakarta is ready to deploy 29 verified delegates across eight branches, namely table tennis, badminton, e-sports, chess, wall climbing, pencak silat, taekwondo, and karate. Meanwhile, in the arts category, UIN Jakarta is sending 17 delegates for Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ), Musabaqah Hifdhil Qur'an (MHQ), Musabaqah Syarhil Qur'an (MSQ), calligraphy, Islamic solo pop, short film, male and female Islamic preaching (dai & daiah), and foreign student poetry. In the scientific category, 21 delegates will focus on Musabaqah Fahmil Qur'an (MFQ), Musabaqah Qira'atil Kutub (MQK), Scientific Paper Competition (LKTI), Arabic debate, English debate, business plan, constitutional debate, and learning media innovation.
In his remarks, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., stated that the contingent selection process had been conducted optimally. Prof. Ali also energized the competing contingent through the rallying slogans "Can Do, Glorious, Champions" and "Jawara Champions."
"We have all carried out the selection process well. Everyone present in this Diorama room represents our finest. We must fully embrace every contest and competition to bring honor to UIN Jakarta. Becoming the overall champion is our main target. There is no better way to achieve it than through discipline, practice, and continuous effort. Always explore what you gain during the competition," said Prof. Ali.
Prof. Ali stressed the importance of maintaining ethics and integrity throughout the competition as representatives of a leading Islamic educational institution.
"Obeying rules and maintaining discipline are crucial. We must uphold our attitude and behavior as best as possible because we carry the name of a prominent religious institution in the country. Perform with confidence, honor, and dignity. Applying the principles of honesty and integrity in the competition is the cornerstone of becoming a champion. Hopefully, the UIN Jakarta contingent can perform better prepared, more confident, and able to maintain an elegant performance to capture the title," he added.
On the same occasion, Head of the Academic Division at the Academic, Student, and Cooperation Administration Bureau (AAKK) Rahmawati, S.Psi., M.M., also offered encouragement to the entire contingent to prepare themselves thoroughly.
"Student delegates must truly prepare themselves thoroughly. The Rector and the entire leadership fully support the contingent's departure to UIN Pekalongan for PORSI JAWARA II. Compete with sportsmanship and discipline, and make use of this momentum to strengthen brotherhood with the academic community across Java and Madura. We must safeguard the good name of UIN Jakarta and show that our students excel not only intellectually, but also in the fields of art and technology," she remarked.
The contingent send-off ceremony was subsequently marked symbolically by Prof. Ali Munhanif alongside student representatives, followed by a group photo session.
In closing the event series, Head of the General Administration and Personnel Bureau Dr. H. Nanang Fatchurochman, S.H., S.Pd., M.Pd., reminded the contingent of the importance of maintaining physical fitness.
"Please make use of the time to get sufficient rest so that during the competition, the physical and mental condition of the students remains fresh and healthy. To those accompanying the team, please ensure this is attended to in support of achieving victory, including preparations for the delegation parade," he concluded.
