Nurturing Young Generation: KSE UIN Jakarta and Bank Paribas Indonesia Hold Financial Education & Waste Management

Depok, UIN Online News - In efforts to support financial education and environmental sustainability, Bank BNP Paribas Indonesia along with the Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) UIN Jakarta Scholarship Recipients conducted “Bank Sampah SD & Financial Literacy for Kids” program on Saturday (15/02/2025) involving 100 students and 16 teachers of State Elementary School (SDN) 02 Cinangka and 20 KSE UIN Jakarta scholarship recipients.

This program, which has been held since Friday (31/01/2025), aims to introduce the concept of waste banks and financial literacy to children from an early age, providing better understanding of waste management and the importance of financial management. 

“Education for waste management are very relevant in today's society. Because environmental issues directly affect people's comfort, we expect that young generation are prepared to maintain their surroundings. Imagine a single kid who acts as an agent of change, he can bring positive message to the environment followed by his families and neighbours," Icu S. Marwati, Donor Relations of the KSE Foundation, stated.

Main Events: Training and Briefing Sessions

Before the students were asked to collect waste that would be used as practice material, KSE UIN Jakarta scholarship recipients explained principles of waste sorting and financial literacy in a presentation.

During the weighing waste, sorting waste, and education training sessions, the students were very enthusiast and they were given a chance to involve in numerous fun games with prizes, as well as to become the waste bank ambassador.

"Today's activities went smoothly and they were very excited. Hopefully we can conduct this kind of activity in the future since they will develop more concerns towards environment sustainability and financial literacy," Seskia Agil Balfas, Head of Human Resource Bank BNP Paribas Indonesia, said.

Persistent Commitment of Members of KSE

As a follow-up to this activity, the KSE UIN Jakarta scholarship recipients, especially the community development coordinators whose program is tasked with helping the community improve their quality of life, social, and economic, will continue to provide education to students and connect schools with waste banks in the surrounding area.

In conclusion, KSE UIN Jakarta scholarship recipients are expected to create a generation wise to handle the environment and economy.
