Numerous Events were Held in Collaboration between UIN Jakarta and Dikti Pendis Kemenag RI during the 80th Independence Day Festival

 

Rectorate Building, UIN Online News — Directorate of Islamic Religious Higher Education under the Directorate General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, successfully organized the Independence Festival to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence with UIN Jakarta.

The festival occurred from Friday (August 15, 2025), culminating on Sunday (August 17, 2025), with a series of events:

  1. Gymnastics (Senam Merdeka)
  2. National Dialogue and Pancacinta
  3. Houses of Worship cleaning
  4. Reading the National Declaration
  5. Ceremony
  6. Satyalancana Karya Satya Medal for 374 awardees,
  7. Free health checkup
  8. MSME bazaar
  9. Traditional competitions.

The festival, which commenced on Friday (August 15, 2025), included the Merdeka Gymnastics event at the Student Center Field, with numerous people from diverse units eagerly engaged in the workout activity in the morning.

As On Saturday (August 16, 2025), a National Dialogue and Pancacinta event took place in the Diorama Room located beneath the Harun Nasution Auditorium, featuring representatives from various faith backgrounds who endorsed religious moderation as a cornerstone of national unity towards Indonesia Emas 2045.

UIN Jakarta invited several religious leaders: the General Chairman of the Indonesian Confucian High Religious Council (Matakin), Xs. Ir. Budi Santoso Tanuwibowo M.M. Khonghucu; the Chairman of the Sriwijaya State Buddhist College in Tangerang Banten, Dr. Li. Edi Ramawijaya Putra M.Pd.; the Chairman of the Katwuri Baptist Theological College (STTBK), Dr. Gandi Wibowo M.Thh; and the Lecturer at the Hindu Dharma Nusantara Jakarta Religious College, Made Wirawan S.Ag., M.Fil.H.

The National Dialogue event culminated with the National Declaration and a Houses of Worship cleaning initiative at the Fathullah Mosque, symbolizing a joint commitment to conserving religious diversity, enhancing brotherhood, fostering a peaceful society, and promoting environmental sustainability.

Finally, the main event on Sunday (August 17, 2025) was the Flag Ceremony at the Triguna Field, featuring more than 1,000 participants: university leadership, faculty and unit heads, lecturers, administrative staff, students, and student activity units.

During the same occasion, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., conferred the Satyalancana Karya Satya, comprising 229 awardees of the Satyalancana Karya Satya Hari Amal Bakti (HAB) Kemenag 2025 and 145 awardees of the Satyalancana Karya Satya HUT-RI ke-80  as a recognition of their service.

Moreover, the festival is further animated by a variety of competitions with several leaders of UIN Jakarta and the Directorate of Islamic Religious Higher Education who competed with each side in a traditional costume competition, a tumpeng decoration contest, a futsal match, tennis, a cracker eating contest, and a paired balloon dance

Next is a free public health check administered collaboratively by the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Health Sciences, Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital, and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital with numerous attendees.

On the other side, to support local enterprise, UIN Jakarta Business Center opened a Bazaar with 25 merchants offering a variety of food and beverage goods.

As a result, the Director of Islamic Religious Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Phil. Sahiron, M.A. commended UIN Jakarta for its well-organized event, which benefitted the community in religious, economical, and domestic fields.

"We anticipate that UIN Jakarta will persist in augmenting its contributions and that collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and other ministries will continue to evolve for further advancement," he remarked.

In response, the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., conveyed his gratitude and appreciation for the collaboration between UIN Jakarta and Dikti Pendis Kemenag.

"We are honored by the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding yesterday's agenda and today's proceedings. This is a part of our obligation we must fulfill as a demonstration of our commitment to the nation and society," he conveyed.

The Rector of UIN Jakarta aspired for this Independence Festival to nurture national solidarity, enhance collaboration, and cultivate a culture of patriotism and religious moderation within the academic community and society.
