NICT is expected to support the IT development of UIN Jakarta
Jakarta, UIN News Online – The National Information and Communication Technology-Human Resources Development (NICT-HRD) is expected to strengthen the development and the utilization of information technology in UIN Jakarta and other institutions.
This was said by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis to UIN News Online on Tuesday (02/18/2020), after the handover ceremony of NICT building from the Communication and Information Technology Ministry (Kemenkominfo) to the Religious Affairs Ministry (Kemenag).
The handover of the NICT-HRD itself was conducted between the two institutions represented by the Secretary General of the Kemenkominfo Rosita Niken Widiastuti and the Secretary General of the Kemenag Mohammad Nur Kholis Setiawan, witnessed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis.
Aside from buildings, the NICT-HRD's assets consist of technology equipment and machinery with a total value of no less than Rp 169 billion.
Nur Kholis in his remarks expressed the importance of Information-technology support for the Ministry of Religious Affairs in realizing its various priority programs. “This will provide an extraordinary benefit for us, not only by the academic community of UIN Jakarta, of course we can also take the associated benefit and accelerate the one stop service (PTSP) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs,” he said.
In response, Rector of UIN Jakarta also expressed her gratitude for this handover process “Alhamdulillah, the NICT Building handover ceremony was held between the Kemenkoinfo and Kemenag. We expect that the NICT can continue to carry out its duties like when it was under the auspices of the Kemenkominfo,” said Rector.
Such expectation, she continue, cannot be separated from the needs of the Kemenag as a ministry that has many work units. The same needs are also felt by UIN Jakarta as a university that has a number of faculties, study programs, including academic administration services which require the existence of an integrated information system. The same goes to UIN Jakarta, as a university that has a number of faculties and study programs, UIN Jakarta also needs academic administrative services that require the existence of an integrated information system.
“Hopefully the modern facilities owned by NICT can be utilized for research and academic activities of UIN Jakarta, Kemenag, Kemenkominfo, and general public,” said Amany. (usa/zm)
