Next week, UIN Jakarta-Forum Nusantara Holds Seminar on Diversity

Pubdok room, UIN NEWS online- UIN Jakarta and Forum Nusantara will hold a diversity seminar titled 'Stringing Indonesia in Diversity' in the Main Auditorium, Monday (02/20/2017). The seminar is intended to be part in strengthening tolerance and respect for citizens of a pluralistic society.

This was conveyed by Head of Publication and Documentation, Feni Arifiani S.Ag., MH to UIN News in his office, Friday (02/17/2017). "The activity is based on many parties concern to the emerging issues which could threaten tolerance and respect and as the fact that we are a pluralistic nation," he said.

Chairman of Forum Nusantara, Joanna Elizabeth Hardjadinata MBA., Ph.D added, some events in the country lately appeared with conflicts potential and tensions. "If the issue not properly managed, it could erode ties amongst Indonesian people," he added.

Publication committee noted, the seminar will present two keynote speakers and a number of important sources. It was confirmed the attendees as the keynote speaker are Indonesia Minister of Religious Affairs, Drs. H. Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Chief of Police and the Police General Drs. H. M. Tito Karnavian, M.A., Ph.D.

Furthermore, present as a speaker a number of academics, intellectuals, and religionist. Among Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada MA, LIPI researcher Prof. Dr. Syamsuddin Haris M.Si, Romo Antonius Suyadi Pr, and zuhairi misrawi.

For the record, the seminar is one of a series that will be held at a number of campuses. Seminar previously performed at Jakarta State University at the end of last year. "The seminar is hold for public, anyone like the media, students, faculty, or other communities can attend and join in the event," said Feni. (im)
