New Admissions, Registrar Starts Coming
Rectorate, UIN NEWS Online – Approaching to new admissions season academic year 2017/2018, Publication and Documentation room (Pubdok) in the rector building have started to be attended by a number of new students in recent weeks. Their coming was to get direct information related to new admissions both through national and local lines (independently).
"The average inquiries was about the selection of courses and schedules, including tuition, scholarships, and campus activities," said Head of Pubdok Sub-division Feni Arifiani MH to UIN NEWS Online in Rectorate building on Friday (24/03/2017).
According to Feni, the number of visitors coming into pubdok room ranges between 10-20 people. Among them are some who come by themselves, but not a few were accompanied by their both parents or friends.
He also explained, UIN Jakarta, in this case the Pubdok Sub-division, intensively have published information on new admissions through various of ways for example through the publication of the website and exhibitions, information services, and direct visitation to senior high schools. It was done in order to facilitate prospective students who unable to obtain information they need without coming directly to campus.
However, some prospective students obtain less information related to new student’s admission, so they decided to come directly to campus. With coming directly to campus, they will at least obtain complete information.
"By coming directly to campus, they can ask questions directly to information services in Pubdok," said Feni.
Information services officer Ali Nasrun Meha said, he sometimes received an overwhelming visitation of students. That was because it takes 10-15 minutes in order to serve a visitor, so other visitors need to wait their turn. The same thing also happened to Hermanuddin, another officer of information services.
"I serve information to visitors directly or via the phone," said Ali, who also served as a telephone operator.
New admissions in UIN Jakarta was opened by at least six incoming lines, namely SNMPTN, SBMPTN, SPAN PTKIN, UM PTKIN, SNCA Mandiri, as well as scholarships cooperation with the Ministry of Religious affairs and local governments. (usa)
