Muthia Afifah, Indonesian Women Empowerment Ambassador 2022

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Muthia Afifah, a student of the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) UIN Jakarta, was named as an Indonesian Women Empowerment Ambassador in the "The Best Traditional Costume" category. She was selected after successfully eliminating nine of the 10 finalists who entered the final round.

The awarding ceremony for the Indonesian Women's Empowerment Ambassador organized by the Indonesian Youth Achievement Association (IPPI) was held at a hotel in Bandung, West Java, on July 2, 2022. “Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful for this achievement,” said Muthia to UIN News Online via WhatsApp, Thursday (07/21/2022).

Afifah also said that she had also won awards as the Language Ambassador of West Sumatra Province (2021) and the Education Ambassador of Banten Province (2022). “When participating in the selection of the West Sumatran Language Ambassador, I felt that this was in accordance with my study program,” she said.

Muthia admitted that to be able to participate in the selection of the Community Empowerment Ambassador, she was appointed directly by the Regional Director of the Banten Education Ambassador. She competed as a representative from Banten Province.

Muthia said that after becoming the Indonesian Women's Empowerment Ambassador, she would try to support the women's empowerment movement in Indonesia. Even Muthia also hopes that both women and men will be sensitive to gender equality issues.
