Muslimah Bloom Festival 2026: LDK Syahid UIN Jakarta Urges Muslim Women to Pursue Dreams Without Losing Their Identity
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online – Amid the rapid current of modern transformation, Muslim women are often confronted with various challenges and conditions that can hinder the pursuit of their dreams. Responding to these dynamics, the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Campus Da'wah Organization (LDK) Syahid at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organized the Muslimah Bloom Festival (MBF) themed “Me, My Hijab, and My Dreams” at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Wednesday (23/09/2026).
This exclusive event for Muslim women featured two main keynote speakers: Muslimah Author & Content Creator, Eva Zuriat Elnova, alongside Muslimah Influencer & Researcher, Karina Hakman. The program was also attended by the UIN Jakarta Student Affairs Team, Advisor of LDK Syahid, apt. Barita Juliana Siregar, S.Si., M.M., General Chairperson of LDK Syahid, Syauqi Mubarok, Head of the Women's Division, Nesya Ayu Syifa Yanti, as well as female students from various faculties across UIN Jakarta.
Opening the proceedings, Advisor of LDK Syahid, apt. Barita Juliana Siregar, S.Si., M.M., underscored the essential connection between the hijab and a Muslim woman's identity. According to her, a profound understanding of the philosophy of hijab can foster self-confidence alongside a moral sense of responsibility within society.
“In our continuously evolving era, the hijab must enable us to realize that it does not hinder our activities or freedom of movement in any way. The objective is for Muslim women, particularly those wearing the hijab, to know themselves better and build unwavering self-confidence,” she stated.
Echoing these sentiments, the Event Director of the Muslimah Bloom Fest expressed hopes that this activity would serve as a positive impetus for all participants in pursuing their aspirations without hesitation.
“Hopefully, this event can serve as the most wonderful gift encouraging everyone to keep stepping further ahead. Today, each of you here shines brightly—not only in the eyes of the world, but also in the eyes of those who cherish you,” she expressed.
Entering the first presentation session, Author of Muslimah Beyond The Rules, Eva Zuriat Elnova, highlighted the shift in values surrounding the hijab in the modern era due to media influences and lifestyle trends. Eva emphasized that the essence of hijab is not measured by outward physical appearance or the cost of clothing materials, but by the dignity, soul, and depth of knowledge of the person wearing it.
“When we possess knowledge about the hijab, that knowledge enables us to discern right from wrong, what is halal, haram, doubtful (syubhat), or driven by desire (syahwat). This knowledge becomes an obligation so that we do not easily drift with the current and remain close to the truth,” she conveyed.
Eva also empowered participants regarding the meaning of consistency or istiqomah in practicing faith. She reminded them that being a devout Muslim woman does not mean being free from mistakes, but rather about having the courage to continuously rise and return to the path of Allah SWT.
“When we resolve to be istiqomah, it does not mean we never sway or stumble. Istiqomah is when we stray, we turn back; when we slip, we turn back; when we fall, we get back up. Humans are indeed prone to error and forgetfulness, but Allah loves those who repent and constantly strive to return to Him,” she emphasized.
In the second session, Karina Hakman shared her perspective on the importance of personal resilience and professionalism as a Muslim woman in fulfilling various life roles—whether as a servant of Allah, an academic, a wife, or a mother. Drawing from her experience lecturing as a university instructor, Karina highlighted that the true quality of a Muslim woman is not judged by external looks, but by her contributions and intellect.
“Ultimately, what is demanded is not our physical appearance, but our knowledge and deeds. No matter how attractive one's appearance may be, in the end, it is righteous deeds and meaningful work that set us apart. Never feel that what we achieve is solely through our own efforts; everything is a blessing from Allah SWT,” she remarked.
Furthermore, Karina encouraged all female students to remain humble and anchor every step of their journey on a solid foundation of faith (aqidah).
“To be a pious Muslim woman means we are crafting our roles on the foundation of faith, not merely temporary enthusiasm. When burdens and challenges arise during your university years, stay grounded and fortify yourselves with a holistic understanding of your role,” she concluded.
The Muslimah Bloom Festival event series reinforces LDK Syahid UIN Jakarta's commitment to accommodating the potential of female students. Through strong religious understanding and mastery of knowledge, the generation of Muslim women at UIN Jakarta is expected to answer the challenges of the times, contribute professionally, and pursue their dreams without relinquishing their Islamic identity.
