MPR-RI Socialize the Four Pillars of the Nation at UIN Jakarta
Ciputat, UIN News Online – The Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) Bambang Soesatyo conducted a Socialization of the Four Pillars at the UIN Jakarta Student Activity Center Building, Monday (10/25/2021). Socialization of the four pillars is needed to prevent the spread radicalism and demoralization of the nation.
Besides being attended by students from various faculties, the socialization was also attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs Arief Subhan, Head of Student Affairs and Alumni division Ikhwan, Sub-Division Head of Talent Development and Student Interest Arief Arianto, and Chairman of the Student Senate Muhammad Sahrul.
In his presentation, Bambang considered that the pillars of national life consisting of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and Bhineka Tunggal Ika needed to be strengthened. This is done to maintain national integration, including avoiding the spread of radicalism and demoralization of the nation.
“In addition to intensifying health vaccinations to break the chain of the Covid-19 virus, the MPR RI also intensifies ideological vaccinations through the Socialization of the Four Pillars of the MPR RI to prevent and break the chain of spreading radicalism and demoralization of the nation's generation,” said Bambang.
Furthermore, Bambang assessed that the socialization of the four pillars was needed as the capital of the nation's young generation. It is estimated that in 2045 Indonesia's population will reach 319 million people with 223 million people being the productive age group which is the backbone of national development.
In addition, massive internet penetration also needs to coexist with the improvement of public ethics and civility. The spread of false information, hate speech, and discrimination are some of the reasons for the importance four pillars socialization. (usa/zm)
