MORA handed over the Hajj Hospital to UIN Jakarta
Jakarta, UIN News Online – After undergoing a long process, UIN Jakarta finally took over the management of the Jakarta Hajj Hospital located in Pondok Gede, Bekasi, West Java. The handover of the Hajj Hospital itself was conducted between the two institutions represented by Acting Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) Nizar Ali and the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amay Lubis, witnessed by the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Fachrul Razi, Friday (05/29/2020).
Also present in the handover ceremony, the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi, Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR Tb Ace Hasan Syadzily, Member of Parliament from the PDIP Faction Ihsan Yunus, as well as several officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and UIN Jakarta.
To UIN News Online, the Minister of Religious Affairs revealed that the Hajj Hospital management transfer was a beginning and not a final process. “There are many other tasks to be completed related to the management of the Hajj Hospital in the future,” he said.
In response, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis expressed her gratitude to the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs for making serious efforts in the process of transferring assets and management of the Hajj Hospital to UIN Jakarta. She also promised that the Hajj Hospital would be well managed by a new management team that would strengthen the statute as well as the organization and its work procedures.
According to the Rector, the Hajj Hospital will be used as an educational hospital for the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences. However, it is possible that the Hajj Hospital can also be utilized by all faculties at UIN Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII Tb Ace Hasan Syadzily considered the management of the Hajj Hospital by UIN Jakarta to be very positive. According to Ace, UIN Jakarta is the first state Islamic higher education that has a medical faculty and an education hospital. He also hopes that UIN Jakarta can become a center of Islamic studies and civilization in the world that integrates Islamic and secular science.
“UIN Jakarta must become par excellence state Islamic university in Indonesia. Furthermore, the Commision VII in the DPR also supports the transfer of management of the Hajj Hospital to UIN Jakarta,” he said. (usa/ns)
