MORA distributes assistance for students of UIN Jakarta

Ciputat, UIN News Online – Covid-19 task force of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) distributes assistance for students of UIN Jakarta affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This assistance was provided through STF UIN Jakarta as part of the UIN Jakarta Covid-19 Task Force.

The assistance was handed over directly by the Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion, Prof. Dr. Nizar to Covid-19 Task Force Coordinator and Co-Director of STF UIN Jakarta Prof. Dr. Amelia Fauzia in Ciputat, Friday (05/22/2020). “Hopefully this assistance can help the affected students,” said Nizar.

Nizar also added that this assistance was a form of concern from the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs employees. “The funds came entirely from their donations,” he explained.

Also present in the event, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, Commission VIII Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Tb. Ace Hasan Syadzili, Bureau Chief of Finance and BMN / Head of the Covid Task Force Team 19 Ministry of Religion Mohamad Ali Irfan, and Planning Bureau Chief / Deputy Chairman of the Covid Task Force team, Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs Ali Rokhmad.

In Response, the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis expressed her appreciation for the assistance provided by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs. “May Allah give blessed  the donors. We also pray that Covid-19 will end soon and everything will return to normal,” she said.

The same appreciation also delivered by Tb Ace. According to Tb Ace, donations given by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and social action of STF UIN Jakarta played an important and strategic role in helping students who were struggling due to the pandemic.

“This is a very important thing to show that the world of education must not stop. The education process must go on,” he said.

Meanwhile, Director of STF UIN Jakarta Amelia Fauzia Amelia explained that assistance from various institutions and individuals had been distributed to students. In addition to food packages, assistance is also distributed in the form of internet quota packages.

For Information, there are more than 1000 students affected. But slowly, the number continued to decrease because some students managed to return to their respective regions. Currently there are approximately 463 students who are detained in the Ciputat and cannot return to their respective regions. Of that number, 200 of them were international students. (usa/zm)
