Mindanao’s Muslim Delegation to Learn Islamic Higher Education System in FITK UIN Jakarta

FITK, UIN News Online – To increase the Islamic higher education system for muslim community in Mindanao, Philiphines, the delegations from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Philippines visit UIN Jakarta, Tuesday, (06/18/2019).

The delegation, which consists of 20 people, was welcomed by The Dean of FITK UIN Jakarta Sururin. Also present in the event, Vice Rector for Cooperation Affairs of UIN Jakarta Andi Faisal Bakti, and Director of Islamic Higher Institution, Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs Arskal Salim.

Dean of FITK Sururin in her remarks expressed her gratitude for the visit of the ARMM delegates to FITK UIN Jakarta. “Welcome to FITK UIN Jakarta, hopefully the results from this discussion can be adapted to the Islamic universities in the Philiphines,” she said.

In line with sururin, Andi Faisal Bakti said that Indonesia and Philippines have come from similar, tree which is originated from the Malayo-Polynesian language family. He also added that UIN Jakarta continue its efforts to be recognized on a global scale. One of its components is the number of International students in UIN Jakarta.

“As the largest Islamic Higher Institution in Indonesia, UIN Jakarta will offer scholarship to Filipino students in pursuing their higher education here in UIN Jakarta,” said Andi.

For information, the meeting resulted in some important things that can be implemented, such as by sending the students and lecturers to UIN Jakarta. (usa)
