Marvelous! Faculty of Science and Technology at UIN Jakarta Generates the Next Indonesian Professor in Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, UIN Online News — Dr. Husni Teja Sukmana, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., has been designated as a Professor in Artificial Intelligence at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, pursuant to the Decree Letter of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3313 of 2025, issued in Jakarta on Thursday (July 3, 2025).

This man, who is currently the professor and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Jakarta, has exhibited commitment, diligence, and substantial contributions to the field of technology, as he achieved the First Prize in the Teaching Competition at the Final Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025.

The appointment of Dr. Husni Teja Sukmana, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., as a Professor, along with his several accolades, represents a significant advancement for UIN Jakarta, a State Islamic Religious University (PTKIN), in enhancing STEM education in Indonesia.

As Secretary General of the Association of Informatics and Computer Science Higher Education Institutions (APTIKOM) for the 2022-2026 term, he is in charge of the enhancement of the association's quality to excel in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and to advance informatics and computer education through strategic initiatives.

He also contributed as an experienced speaker in Dr. Demul's YouTube podcast, which fully showcased Dr. Husni Teja Sukmana's mastery as an expert in technology specialization.

Moreover, he is actively engaged in research endeavors and the dissemination of journal articles and scholarly books, such as Transformer Architecture for Automatic Brain Stroke Screening from Abstract MRI Images, which examines the detection of brain strokes from medical images utilizing the Vision Transformer (ViT) learning model.

The entire UIN Jakarta community enthusiastically embraced this achievement, providing abundant support and encouragement. This expression of gratitude demonstrates that Islamic universities can compete in technical education, thereby enhancing the reputation of UIN Jakarta.
