Marching Band UIN Jakarta Wins Gold and Bronze Medal at Fornas VI Palembang

Rectorate, UIN News Online – The Marching Band UIN Jakarta, along with the Indonesian Youth Band Forum (FYBI) South Tangerang managed to bring home gold and bronze medals at the "Wind and Brass Contest and Solo Brass Contest" National Recreational Sports Festival (Fornas) VI in Palembang, South Sumatra, on July, 4-5, 2022. UIN Jakarta Marching Band representing the Banten Province contingent by sending as many as 10 personnel.

Based on the press release of the Marching Band UIN Jakarta received by BERITA UIN Online, Monday (11/7/2022), the Marching Band UIN Jakarta took part in the Fornas VI competition in the general category for the "Wind and Brass Contest and Solo Brass Contest" competitions. In the Wind and Brass Contest, nearly 20 provinces sent their representatives.

Winners are selected based on the accuracy and suitability of the content, harmonization, technique, balance, and ensemble. In this competition, the Marching Band of UIN Jakarta managed to bring a gold medal in the Wind and Contest category. Meanwhile, for the Wind Solo category, the Marching Band of UIN Jakarta only won a bronze medal.

For information, Fornas VI South Sumatra was held on July 1-7 2022 and opened on Friday (07/01//2022) at Jakabaring Sport City Palembang by the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali, which was attended by the Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru. The event was attended by 55 Parent Sports Organizations (Inorga) along with 10 exhibitions from 34 provinces in Indonesia. (ns/usa)
