1. FST Mangrove Conservation and Planting on Pari Island
The Mangrove Conservation Programme on Pari Island is an environmental conservation initiative carried out by lecturers from the Biology Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, in collaboration with the SDGs Center and the local community. This programme represents the university's commitment to implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly through community service and environmental preservation.
The programme aims to protect coastal ecosystems, reduce the risk of coastal abrasion, and maintain biodiversity through direct mangrove restoration activities. It also seeks to strengthen collaboration between universities and local communities in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable coastal management.
2. 1,000-Tree Planting Initiative as a Form of Ecotheology and Green Campus
As a form of ecotheology and Green Campus commitment, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University implemented a 1,000-tree planting initiative at the PPG Campus. This programme reflects the university's commitment to integrating environmental responsibility into campus development and academic activities.
The initiative also supports the Ministry of Religious Affairs' ecotheology programme, which encourages environmental protection as part of religious and social responsibility. Its main objectives are to increase green spaces, improve vegetation coverage, support biodiversity, and promote environmental awareness among the university community.
