Ma’had Al-Jami’ah UIN Jakarta Holds 16th Graduation Ceremony: Students Urged to Uphold Ma'had Values in Life
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — Ma’had Al-Jami’ah UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held its 16th Haflah At-Takharruj (graduation ceremony) on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on the UIN Jakarta campus. Approximately 536 students participated in the graduation procession. The event, themed "Grounded with the Divine: Santri's Footprint in the Path of Ecotheology," was attended by hundreds of santris (Islamic boarding school students), instructors, and university leadership.
The event commenced with remarks from the Head of Pusat Ma’had Al-Jami’ah, Dr. KH. M. Suryadinata, M.Ag. In his speech, he expressed appreciation to all instructors who have mentored the students throughout their learning period. "I extend my gratitude to all the instructors who have provided the best guidance to all students during their studies at Ma’had Al-Jami’ah," he stated.
Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, also delivered an important message to the graduates. "Whatever you have learned while at the Ma’had, let it be your guide for life after leaving the Ma’had," he advised.
Additionally, the Haflah At-Takharruj was attended by Dr. Muhammad Sholeh Hasan, Lc., MA., supervisor of Mabna Syeikh Abdul Karim. In his presentation, he emphasized the significant role of santris as agents of change who bring ecotheological values into society.
Furthermore, one of the students, Zannuba Rizky Lubis, explained that living in the Ma'had is very exciting, like having a new family in this foreign place.
For context, Ma’had Al-Jami’ah UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is a religious development institution for new students, focusing on strengthening character, morals, and understanding Islamic values. Moreover, Ma'had Al-Jami’ah also offers a modern pesantren (Islamic boarding school)-based education program with an integrative curriculum covering Islamic sciences, tahfiz (Qur'an memorization), and fostering consistent worship. Through intensive year-long guidance, this institution aims to produce students with noble character, moderate perspectives, and readiness to be role models within the campus and society.
