MA Al-Kahfi Bogor Students and Teachers Visit the FDI Campus

FDI, UIN News Online – A total of 97 students and 11 teachers from Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Al-Kahfi Bogor, West Java, visited the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (FDI) UIN Jakarta, Monday (05/23/2022). The visit was carried out to obtain complete information about the lecture program at UIN Jakarta, especially at FDI.

The visit was received by Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Yuli Yasin, Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation Moch Syarif Hidayatullah, and Secretary of the Dirasat Islamiyah Study Program M. Khairul Mustaghfirin in the FDI Hall, campus I of UIN Jakarta.

The head of MA Al-Kahfi, Agus Khairul Anwar said, MA Al-Kahfi students were invited to FDI so they could find out what the campus environment was like. In addition, they are also expected to be able to obtain a lot of information about FDI, both the registration process, the lecture system and prospects for graduates.

“We also hope that students can continue their studies at UIN Jakarta, especially at FDI,” said Khairul.

In addition to opening MA Al-Kahfi, the Islamic college also established a Kindergarten, Integrated Islamic Junior High School, Integrated Islamic High School, and Super Takhasus Tahfidzul Qur’an (STTQ) program.

“The STTQ program is specifically for students who have a strong desire to memorize the Qur'an,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yuli Yasin said, FDI is one of 12 faculties at UIN Jakarta. Established in 1999, this faculty was originally the Al-Azhar Special Program (Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt) which was born as an implementation of a cooperation agreement in the fields of science and culture.

In its later development, the Al-Azhar Program changed its status to become a faculty (FDI) in 2001. The entire FDI curriculum adopted the Al-Azhar University curriculum, both for the undergraduate and graduate programs.

“However, the Indonesian aspect depicted in the General Basic Course (MKDU) is still well considered,” said Yuli.

Yuli added, the background of applying international standards in FDI in the implementation of the teaching and learning process is because there are many potential graduates of Islamic boarding schools, public or private madrasas who deserve international Islamic studies programs without having to continue their education abroad at large costs.

Through FDI, it is hoped that its alumni will become practitioners and researchers who are able to develop Islamic studies globally and competitively. This noble goal is difficult to realize, without the persistence, sincerity and active participation of the entire FDI academic community, including the students.

“FDI graduates are spread in various fields of work and professions. There are also many graduates who continue their master's and doctoral studies in the Middle East,” said Yuli. (ns/usa)
