LPM UIN Jakarta Strengthens Lecturer Competence Through Teaching Material Workshop
Syahida Inn, UIN Online News — The Quality Assurance Agency (LPM) of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta on Tuesday (14/10/2025) organized a workshop for lecturers to accommodate both important subjects in study programs based on the university's standard and the national curriculum.
In his opening remarks, LPM Chair Prof. Khamami Zada, M.A., explained that the training aims to strengthen the academic teaching capacity of UIN Jakarta’s lecturers by enhancing their expertise and pedagogical competence. He expressed hope that the workshop would equip lecturers with practical skills to design effective, technology-driven learning materials.
UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., who also attended the event, pointed out the importance of adaptability and continuous learning among educators. He urged lecturers to stay abreast of technological developments and to ensure their teaching methods remain engaging and relevant to students’ needs.
“Lecturers are expected to surpass the existing content from the book. Therefore, you must reflect on how to deliver the subject to your students as clearly as possible. That is it,” he ordered.
Despite the traditional function of textbooks, Prof. Asep further asserted their essentiality as tools for structuring instruction and defining learning objectives. If utilized properly, it becomes handy guidance and a roadmap for effective teaching that helps lecturers organize lessons and set targets while maintaining consistency in classroom delivery.
Next, the main presentation was delivered by Dr. Trini Prastati, M.Pd., from Universitas Terbuka, who outlined strategies for designing learning materials, developing competency maps, and creating instructional outlines.
“Focusing on different learning opportunities is essential for instructors. When designing learning materials, do not rely solely on text. Please include exercises and practical applications since we have digital approaches that align with today’s technological landscape,” she advised.
The workshop concluded with an emphasis on the need for continuous professional development. The LPM of UIN Jakarta hopes this initiative will enhance the teaching competence and creativity of UIN Jakarta lecturers, preparing them to meet the evolving demands of higher education.
