LP2M UIN Jakarta holds professor accelaration program
Diorama Room, UIN News Online – To increase the number of professors in various scientific fields, the Institute For Research and Community Service (LP2M) UIN Jakarta holds professor acceleration program on Thursday (09/22/2021), held at Diorama room, campus I of UIN Jakarta.
Based on UIN News Online observation, this program was attended by 40 participants, all of whom were lecturers with doctoral education levels with the academic rank of associate professor. They are encouraged to immediately meet the requirements for achieving the rank of professor.
The details, from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITKK) as many as 13 participants, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities as many as 5 participants, the Faculty of Ushuluddin and the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Studies each 1 participant. Then, the Faculty of Psychology had 3 participants, the Faculty of Economics and Business 10 participants.
Furthermore, 3 participants from the Faculty of Science and Technology, 3 participants from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and 5 participants from the Faculty of Sharia and Law.
The acceleration program itself was opened directly by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis. In her opening remarks, she expected that the program participants can follow this activity seriously. “This program will help you in improving the writing quality, methodology and academic skills so you can be more feasible to be nominated as a professor,” she said.
She also explained that professor have a critical role in university. In addition to fostering excellence in research, teaching, professional activities in the academic discipline within the university, the professors also have a role in the knowledge development which is needed by the wider communities.
She also added that the existence of lecturers with the rank of professo, must always be maintained at least 10 percent of the total lecturers in a university. In addition, the number of professor also served as an important indicator in the development of the university's academic climate.
This accelerated activity also presented two academic and administrative resource persons consisting of the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Religion at the International Islamic University of Indonesia Noorhaidi Hasan and the Young Expert Staffing Analyst, AUK Bureau of UIN Jakarta Abdul Halim Mahmudi.
