LP2M UIN Jakarta Holds Coaching Clinic for Requirements to Increase Functional Position of Professor

Diorama Room, UIN News Online - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta together with the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), held a Coaching Clinic for the Requirements for the Functional Position of Professor, in Diorama Room, ground floor of Harun Nasution Auditorium on Friday (02/08). This event aimed to equip professor candidates with an in-depth understanding of the substantive requirements for promotion.

A total of 47 professor candidates from various faculties, namely, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Faculty of Medicine (FK), Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIK), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), Faculty of Ushuluddin (FU), and Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK), attended the event.

The event was opened with remarks from the Head of LP2M UIN Jakarta, Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D who revealed that the coaching clinic is very important to support lecturers in becoming professors to encourage UIN Jakarta to become a reputable university. "The Coaching Clinic event is important for lecturers who want to continue their academic position to become a Professor," she said. 

Vice Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., welcomed the event. He emphasized that this activity is very important to be carried out in order to guide professorship candidates so that they do not take the wrong steps in undergoing the process of functional promotion. He also revealed that UIN Jakarta has created a new stepping stone, namely 57 professors who have been appointed recently.

The event presented 5 speakers, namely the first speaker, Head of Subdirectorate of Personnel of the Directorate of Higher Education, Muhammad Aziz Hakim, M.H., explained that the requirements for academic promotion to Professor have several changes this year. However, this change in requirements is considered not to make it difficult for lecturers to advance to the academic position of Professor. 

In the second material, by the Professor of the International Islamic University of Indonesia (UIII), Prof. Yanwar Pribadi, Ph.D. He explained how the Writing Opportunities of Interdisciplinary Studies: Interreligious Studies. Prof. Yanwar explained various examples of religious studies, as well as the technicalities of writing articles in accordance with international standards. Then also gave various examples of publications of his articles that have been published in journals in various countries.

For the Requirements for the Increase in Professor Position, it was explained by the Head of the HR Team of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Naily Ulva Sa'adah, S.Kom, regarding data requirements, special requirements, and additional requirements regarding the Requirements for the Increase in Professor Position and the flow of the functional position process in it.

Furthermore, the fourth session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Rena Latifa, M.Psi, with material on Paving the Way to Professor. "The purpose of this coaching is to ensure and accompany you to become a Professor," Rena revealed. In the next session, it was also discussed how to improve research skills and publications after previously discussing the purpose of self-value in terms of psychology.

The last material on Tips and Tricks to Become a Professor was delivered by Professor of the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Ambran Hartono, M.Si. Prof. Ambran gave tips and tricks to become a Professor through his experience at that time. He hopes that the participants, namely the Lecturers who are members, can take lessons and teachings to become a Professor. "Mr. and Mrs. Lecturers were my students who first became Professors. And I think there is nothing wrong with fighting for the highest title and position," Ambran explained.

The event is expected to provide a comprehensive understanding for prospective professors, so that they can prepare themselves well in undergoing the process of functional promotion.
