Low-carbon energy tracking Measure the amount of low carbon energy used across the university
To commemorate Environment Day, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University distributed electric bicycles to all faculties and units on campus. The event took place on Thursday, June 5 2025, at the AAKK Meeting Lounge and was attended by university leadership, deans, and heads of work units.
The Rector of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA., Ph.D., symbolically handed over the electric bicycles, which were named SALUT (Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Electric Bicycles). Each faculty and unit received three to four electric bicycles, depending on their specific needs. “We hope these eco-friendly vehicles will support campus activities and serve as a reminder of the importance of preserving the earth. We also urge the entire academic community to continue improving their waste management literacy and fostering a ‘green campus’ spirit in their respective work environments,” he said.
Following the symbolic ceremony at the AAKK Lounge, all invited guests proceeded to the front courtyard of the Harun Nasution Auditorium Building. There, the electric bicycles were handed over directly to representatives from each faculty and department, followed by test rides by university leaders and invited guests. This initiative is part of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University commitment to implementing the Green Campus program, which emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability on campus. The “SALUT” electric bicycles are designed to serve as an eco-friendly alternative for campus transportation.
