Lily Surraya: UIN Jakarta has implemented gender mainstreaming
Rectorate, UIN News Online – Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development of UIN Jakarta, Lily Surraya Eka Putri, stated that UIN Jakarta has implemented gender mainstreaming in its organizational structure. This is evidenced by the number of women who hold strategic positions, ranging from the Rector to the Head of Department.
“Throughout history, this is the first time a woman has succeeded in becoming the Rector of UIN Jakarta,” said Lily while giving a speech at the National Webinar organized by the Center for the Study of Gender and Child (PSGA) entitled “Kartini Masa Kini, Citra Perempuan dalam Lintasan Media” on Wednesday (04/21/2021).
Hosted by PSGA Gender Coordinator Iin Kendedes, this webinar presented DPR RI Member Nurul Arifin and KPI Commissioner Nuning Rodiyah as resource persons.
Lily said, the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development was previously held by men and now by women. So, it can be said that there are many female officials at UIN Jakarta today.
“Previously, I was the dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology,” said Lily.
According to Lily, the implementation of gender mainstreaming at UIN Jakarta has been going on for a long time. This is in line with the increasing number of women who have the capacity and potential to occupy an important position.
“I feel proud that women are now starting to rise and have an important role on society even though they are busy with their domestic affairs,” she said. (usa/ns)
