Library Center Added More Collections of Books and Journals

Library building, UIN NEWS Online- Year 2017, Library Center add up a collections of books and scientific journals. The addition is in accordance with the budget of library center. At least 1000 new titles will be displayed on the library center in the near future. This was conveyed by the Head of UIN Jakarta Library Center Amrullah Hasbana MA, to UIN NEWS Online after the inauguration of BI Corner at the 2nd floor of UIN Jakarta library building on Thursday (27/04). He added that the additional books are not merely obtained by purchasing them, but there are many books that the library gets from grants.

"It is not only the books, we will also give additional e-journals and e-books which correspond to the available budget. We need to consider the budget availability, as I can recall, last year there was a budget cut, which resulted in removing some programs, the program removed including enrichment of books and journals. This year, we are trying to make it happen with the existing budget, "said Amrullah.

When he was asked about the source of the book especially by grant, he replied that there were some institutions and individuals have donated their books to the center library.  Moreover, the National Library have contributed 2000 books, BI Corner 250 titles, and as planned before that tomorrow at 09.00 WIB, he was scheduled to receive symbolically the grant handover of private book collection from former Minister of Religious Affairs of 1993-1998 period, Dr. Tarmizi Taher (late).

"Tomorrow we will receive the book collection grant handover of Mr. Tarmizi Taher. The submission will be done by his daughter at 09.00 am at the Central Library UIN Jakarta, "said Amrullah.

At the end of the conversation, Amrullah said that library visitors have significantly increase each year. This is happened because of many reasons, one of them determine by the facilities optimization that carried out continuously, an increasingly comprehensive collection of books and journals, and the convenience of a library center that has always been the concern of all library employees.

"We always try our best to create the comfortable, peace and quiet atmosphere of the library center and to become more representative place for all UIN Jakarta academic community," he said.

For information, the library center is currently facilitating the Student Activity Unit (UKM) which has no place to carry out educational activities. We provide the multipurpose room which is located on the seventh floor of the library center. (usa)
