KPK: 86 Percent Of Corruptors Are University Graduates
Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – 86 Percent of corruptors are university graduates. This was said by Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron in his speech during new student orientation (PBAK) UIN Jakarta 2022 on Wednesday (08/24/2022) held at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I of UIN Jakarta.
Ghufron said, based on Law Number 7 of 2006 concerning Ratification of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), the impact of corruption include damage to price markets and intense business competition, breaking down the law, decreasing quality of life in sustainable development, undermine the democratic process and human rights violations.
From these various consequences, he continued, universities actually contributed to 86 percent of corruptors. This happens because there are many college alumni who lack of integrity.
“Therefore, universities must play an important role in creating a generation that plays a major role in eradicating corruption through anti-corruption education,” he said.
Students, he continued, must have strong competence and character. “To welcome Indonesia Gold 2045, students must have strong competence, ability, and integrity character,” he concluded. (ns/dap/usa)
