KPI UIN Jakarta Holds Studium Generale on Digital Technology

FIDK, UIN News Online – KPI Department of Da’wa Faculty UIN Jakarta holds stadium generale on technology entitled “Memahami Perkembangan Teknologi Komunikasi Dalam Menghadapi Dunia Kerja di Era Digital” on Wednesday, (10/17/2018) at FIDK Theater, Campus I of UIN Jakarta. This event also invites Gogot Suharwoto, Ph.D (Head of Pustekkom, Kemdikbud) who is unable to attend and represented by Hendriawan Widiatmoko (Head of multimedia and web-based learning technology development, Pustekkom, Kemdikbud) and Rachmat Baihaky MA (Lecturer of FIDK UIN Jakarta).

Deputy Dean for General Administration of FIDK UIN Jakarta Dr. Roudhonah, M.Ag in her remarks said this seminar aims to motivate students to think more creatively, innovatively and competitively in today's digital era. “By thinking creatively and innovatively, we will be able to deal with various changes and developments in science and technology,” she said.

Meanwhile, Hendriawan Widiatmoko in his presentation said that we are currently facing the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Revolusi Industri 4.0).

“The First Industrial Revolution used water and steam power to mechanize production. The Second Industrial Revolution used electric power to create mass production. The Third used electronics and information technology to automate production. Today, the rapid development of sensor technology, interconnection and data analysis raises the idea of integrating all these technologies into various industrial fields. This idea is predicted to be the fourth industrial revolution,” he said.

He also added that the fourth industrial revolution had given birth to several startup or e-commerce companies in Indonesia such as gojek, tokopedia or bukalapak. “The fourth industrial revolution presents new business lines, new jobs, and new professions. Additionally, they continue to make various innovations. The fourth industrial revolution will not work without innovation,” he added. (usa)
