KPI Masters Program Holds Webinars on Article Writing and Journal Management

FDIKOM, UIN News Online – The Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Masters Program FDIKOM UIN Jakarta held a webinar on Increasing the Capacity for Writing Journal Articles and Management on Tuesday (05/24/2022). The event invites Dr. Ahmad Izudin, M.Sc., Editor in Chief of the Journal of Community Empowerment of UIN Sunan Kalijaga as a resource person

Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Siti Napsiyah in her opening remarks appreciates the holding of this webinar. Because with this capacity building webinar, it can become a forum for journal administrators at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Studies.

“I call this journal administrator like a mujahid. People who strive for journals to have good quality standards, accredited by sinta. It is hoped that there will be an increase in managerial, academic, and personal capacity from the administrators of this journal,” said Siti.

In addition, the Head of the KPI Masters Study Program, Tantan Hermansah stated that the purpose of this webinar is also to improve the quality of writing articles from master students. Because one of the requirements to take a thesis exam is to write an article.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Izudin in his presentation said that in journal management, the existence of a journal house must be accompanied by skill development. So that the journal house can become a community to develop skills according to their respective fields.

“The most important thing in journal management is the journal editor. If the editor is good, the quality of the article is also good,” he said.

In addition, in writing articles, abstracts are important things to pay attention to. For example, the introduction must start with some facts. From the facts it will appear a contradiction. Abstract writing style, as is usually the standard for writing Sinta and Scopus journal articles. (fdikom/usa)
