KKN PpMM to Accelerate the Local Community Empowerment

Rectorate, UIN News Online – The Implementation of Student Study Service (KKN) UIN Jakarta 2018 is expected to accelerate the empowerment of local communities in various areas. This year, KKN PpMM regular program targeted two Regencies, Bogor Regency, West Java, and Tangerang Regency, Banten.

This was conveyed by the Head of Center for Community Service (PPM) UIN Jakarta Djaka Badranaya in Rectorate Building, Wednesday, (04/25/2018). “We are still focusing the activities in these two districts. This activity is expected to accelerate the empowerment of local residents through student service program,” said Djaka.

From these two regencies, he continued, we select 10 districts. Of the 10 districts, we spread the KKN participants into 100 villages. The total distribution of participants in the two districts were as many as 20 districts and 200 villages

In Bogor regency, for example, some targeted districts are Jasinga, Leuwisadeng, Tenjo, and Sukaraja. While in Tangerang regency, some targeted districts are such as Kemiri, Kronjo, Sukadiri, Pakuhaji, and Teluknaga.

In addition to literacy programs such as literacy and Islamic teaching, KKN participants also provides micro business assistance and advocacy for local issues.

Djaka also revealed, the number of KKN PpMM participants for this year is increased significantly. This increase was contributed by the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) by sending 850 KKN participants, so the total regular KKN participants for this year reached 3,834 people.

For information, FITK is implementing regular KKN program for its students to replace the Integrated Teacher Training Practice Program (PPKT). In addition to KKN, FITK also introduces a School Introduction Course for its final-year students. (usa)
