KKN Participants in Bogor Donate Waste Incinerator
Rectorate, UIN News Online – Community Service (KKN) participants, in collaboration with Patriot Desa youth organization donated a waste incinerator to residents in Laladon Village, Ciomas District, Bogor Regency. The handover ceremony and demonstration of the tools were held on August 20, 2022.
This was stated by the Head of the KKN Group, Neng Wava Sintiya, in a written statement submitted to UIN News online, Monday (08//22/2022). “With this tool, it is hoped that residents will no longer dispose their household waste in any place,” she said.
Incinerator is a waste treatment tool that utilizes combustion technology at a certain temperature. In the process, this machine can convert solid waste into ash form. This machine is an alternative to reduce waste accumulation.
“We buy all the raw materials at our own expense, including the welding costs,” said Wava.
Wava said that waste processing was one of the group's flagship programs in the socio-environmental field which was held in the village. The activities involve not only local youth who are members of the Karang Taruna, but also local residents.
Therefore, the presence of the organic waste processing machine is one solution to overcome excessive piles of waste.
The head of RW 09, Nani Triana, welcomed the KNN participants' initiative to build a garbage-burning machine in their area. He hopes that the tool can be used by residents as well as possible and will be able to change people's bad behavior in littering.
Nani also hopes that the initiative to exchange ideas between the participants of the Community Service Group and Patriot Desa can produce benefits for the surrounding community.
“Hopefully the solutions provided by the KKN participants can be useful for local residents,” said Nani. (ns/usa)
