KKN 2025 UIN Jakarta Promotes Ecological and Collaborative-Based Islamic Social Innovation
Jakarta, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has officially dispatched 5,091 students to participate in the 2025 Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) or Community Service Program. This initiative is organized by the Center for Community Service (PPM) under the coordination of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M).
The send-off for thousands of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta KKN 2025 participants was officially led by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D. The event was also attended by the Head of LP2M, Prof. Amelia Fauzia, M.A., Ph.D.; Head of the Center for Community Service (PPM), Ade Rina Farida, M.Si.; Head of the Green Campus Development Center, Prof. Dr. Hendrawati; and other officials and academic community members.
In his welcoming speech, Prof. Ali Munhanif advised all students to view KKN not merely as an academic obligation, but as a transformative and meaningful learning experience.
"KKN is not just an academic obligation; it's a valuable opportunity for students to learn directly from community life. This is the concrete manifestation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: service carried out with full responsibility, care, and integrity," he stated.
Head of LP2M UIN Jakarta, Prof. Amelia Fauzia Ph.D., emphasized that this year's KKN is not just a routine service program, but a strategic step by the university to encourage students' tangible contributions to social development based on Islamic values and ecological awareness.
“This year's KKN activity is not just ordinary service; it is a concrete manifestation of the campus's contribution to building social innovation based on Islamic values and ecological awareness. Through this theme, we encourage students not only to identify societal problems but also to offer solutions that are collaborative, sustainable, and approach issues holistically,” Amelia asserted.
Furthermore, she highlighted that the current KKN approach must be able to cross disciplinary boundaries and open avenues for collaboration among social communities. Every student work program in the field is expected not only to touch technical aspects but also to build cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural awareness in addressing real societal problems, such as social inequality, environmental damage, and strengthening local community capacity.
“We want students not only to bring theoretical solutions but also to be capable of building social sensitivity, Islamic spirituality, and ecological understanding integrally. Every intervention made must be relevant to the local context, prioritize citizen participation, and pave the way for program sustainability,” she added.
UIN Jakarta's 2025 KKN program carries the grand theme of "Religious and Ecological Social Innovation," designed to address various challenges faced by grassroots communities. With students deployed to various regions in Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) and several locations outside Java, it is hoped that there will be a flow of knowledge and values rooted from the campus into society.
The dispatch of these thousands of students also demonstrates UIN Jakarta's strong commitment to positioning community service as one of the indispensable pillars of higher education's tri dharma, inseparable from its academic and research mission.
Amelia Fauzia also added that in a global context full of ecological and social challenges, UIN Jakarta students are demanded to be agents of change.
“We want to build a generation of scholars who not only think but also act. Who not only absorb knowledge in the classroom but are able to practice it in the community with humility, a dialogical approach, and full empathy,” she stated.
The 2025 UIN Jakarta KKN activity is not only a means of strengthening student competence but also a space for real social transformation. With a collaborative, participatory, and value-based approach, this program is expected to create a sustainable footprint with long-term impact for both society and the university.
