Kampung UKM UIN Jakarta 2026: A Platform for Freshmen to Explore Interests and Talents
Student Center Field, UIN News Online – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta hosted the 2026 Student Activity Unit Village (Kampung UKM) as a platform for thousands of new students to explore their interests, talents, and potential. Carrying the theme “Beyond the Toy Box: Dare to Explore”, the event took place lively at the Student Center Field on Sunday (30/08/2026).
The event was attended by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., Vice Rector III for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., Head of the Academic Division as well as Acting Head of the AAKK Bureau Rahmawati, S.Psi., M.M., Person in Charge of Kampung UKM Dr. Fatihunnada, Lc., M.A., and Chairman of the UKM Forum Roihan Azkia. Also present as talk show speakers were Greenpeace Indonesia Climate and Energy Campaign Manager Iqbal Damanik and Climate Rangers Member Novia Safira Azzahra.
Different from previous years, Kampung UKM 2026 featured a new innovation by dividing the booth area into four main discourse zones. Zone 1 was located next to the Student Affairs Building, facilitating arts, theater, and drama; Zone 2 was located in front of the Main Library Building, bringing together Islamic and organizational fields; Zone 3 was situated around the Faculty of Sharia and Law, housing language and photography fields; while Zone 4 was situated in front of the Student Center Hall, designated for natural disaster, sports, and social fields.
During the event, UIN Jakarta Rector Prof. Asep expressed his appreciation for the organization of Kampung UKM as a place to hone intellect, spirit, and physical well-being for students.
"This Kampung UKM serves as an essential medium for honing leadership, arts, and sports outside the classroom. However, remember to keep organizational activities balanced so they support your main academic success," he remarked.
In support of this, Vice Rector III for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif emphasized the importance of developing soft skills in the modern era. According to him, future career success is determined not solely by Grade Point Average (GPA), but also by organizational experience.
"Achievements and career paths in the workforce are not solely determined by GPA. These skills that are not obtained in the lecture halls are what we develop through UKMs and autonomous bodies as a form of future investment," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of Kampung UKM 2026, Salman, mentioned that the event was designed as a space for new students to recognize their self-potential while building network relations following the PBAK orientation series. Echoing this sentiment, General Chairman of the UIN Jakarta UKM Forum, Muhammad Raihan Hasya, reaffirmed the readiness of UKMs and Autonomous Bodies (LO) to facilitate student interests.
"We are ready to facilitate all of our peers' potential across various fields. We hope that new students do not merely seek experience, but also commit to progressing and achieving accomplishments together with the extended family of the UKM Forum," he stated.
The 2026 Kampung UKM event involved 16 UKMs and two Autonomous Bodies (LO) within UIN Jakarta, such as LPM Institut, Kalacitra, FLAT, HIQMA, LDK, KMM Riak, Forsa, Scouts (Pramuka), Menwa, Teater Syahid, Marching Band, PSM, FRESH, KPA-ARKADIA, Kopma, KSR-PMI, KMPLHK-RANITA, AIESEC, Formabi-KIP, and others.
In addition to the exhibition, Kampung UKM 2026 also presented an educational and interactive forum for the entire academic community, ranging from talk shows, collaborative performances, games, to model photography workshops. To support the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, the committee also provided a food court area serving a wide variety of food and beverages for visitors.
