Inviting Governor of Banten, HIMAPOL Indonesia Holds Grand Gathering and Public Discussion at UIN Jakarta
Jakarta, UIN Online News - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta hosted the Grand Gathering and Public Discussion organized by the Indonesian Association of Political Science Students (HIMAPOL Indonesia) on Saturday (August 4, 2025), at the Bahtiar Effendy Auditorium, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
The event featured several prominent speakers: Professor of Political Science and Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D.; Governor of Banten (2025–2030), Andra Soni, S.M., M.AP.; Chairman of APSIPOL, Dr. Iding Rosyidin, S.Ag., M.Si.; and Research and Senior Program Officer of PERLUDEM, Heroik Mutaqin Pratama.
Carrying the theme “1 Dekade HIMAPOL Indonesia: Mahasiswa sebagai Gerak Kritis dan Solutif”, the event served as a platform for reflection and consolidation of the political science student movement across Indonesia. It also became a venue for cross-generational meetings and collaboration among activists.
The same commitment was reinforced by the Governor of Banten, Andra Soni. He emphasized that serving Indonesia is not only the duty of bureaucrats or officials but also the responsibility of all citizens.
“For political science students, community service means safeguarding democracy through critical thinking, raising public political awareness, and consistently being the agents of social change.” he stated.
Through HIMAPOL, they are expected to transcend more than an organizational forum, but also to emerge as a moral force for the nation, a public policy initiator, and a substantive democratic learning space.
"I hope this organization (HIMAPOL) will continue to be a moral force in national life, generating fresh public policy ideas, and becoming a meaningful space for learning about democracy," Andra Soni added.
This event became an important moment for all participants to reflect on the strategic role of the HIMAPOL in fostering a culture of intellectualis. It is hoped that the association of UIN Jakarta will also continue to stand as a strong moral force while actively contribute to national dynamics by serving as a platform for nurturing well-mannered young generations.
