International Triumphs: UIN Jakarta Sweeps 10 Medals at SeIBa International Festival via Accelerated 2-Week Talent Sprint

PADANG, UIN Online News – The undergraduate student delegation from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta secured a historic milestone during their inaugural appearance at the 4th SeIBa International Festival (International Islamic Arts and Culture Festival). Held at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, West Sumatra, from July 7 to July 12, 2026, the elite team successfully clinched 10 international medals, consisting of 5 Gold Medals and 5 Silver Medals.

The sweep stands as an extraordinary academic and creative feat, given that the 10-student cohort recruited from various engineering, business, and theological faculties navigated an incredibly compressed two-week preparation sprint prior to entering the high-stakes international arena.

The Vice Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Dr. Asyari Hasan, M.Ag., acting on behalf of the university's central executive board, highly praised the squad's cognitive agility and competitive mindset.

"The international evaluation panel deployed highly objective and stringent scoring metrics. Our student units practically engineered their creative concepts, film productions, and scientific presentations within a strict 14-day window. Breaking through these temporal resource constraints to deliver a 100 percent medal conversion rate completely exceeded our initial baseline projections," Dr. Hasan stated on the sidelines of the festival.

The institutional versatility of UIN Jakarta's contingent was verified across diverse competitive domains, seamlessly blending modern digital media tools, academic defense panels, and historical Islamic performance arts:

• Short Film (Gold): Won by Ridho Rizki Balebat from the Hadith Studies Department, Faculty of Ushuluddin, for exceptional narrative cinematography.

• Solo Pop Vocal (Gold): Secured by Faisal Munawwar from the Sharia Banking Department, Faculty of Economics and Business.

• Graphic Poster Design (Gold): Clinched by Aldo Salim Afif from the Sharia Economics Department, FEB.

• Musabaqah Syarhil Qur’an / MSQ (Gold): Mastered by a synchronized legal-theological trio comprising M. Dzikra Rantona (Faculty of Sharia and Law), alongside Agustri Ananda and Ihza Muhammad (Faculty of Islamic Dirasat).

• Scientific Proceeding Presentation (Gold): Captured in the academic division by Ghilman Zuhud Fathoni from the Faculty of Islamic Dirasat for top-tier research defense.

Concurrently, the delegation locked down 5 distinct Silver Medals, establishing strong performance margins in highly competitive solo and group categories:

• Literature & Poetry (Silver): Awarded to Dinda Nur Oktavia from the Management Department, FEB.

• Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an / MTQ (Silver): Secured by Ihza Muhammad (Faculty of Islamic Dirasat).

• Theatrical Monologue (Silver): Won by Rafidah Azzahrah (Faculty of Islamic Dirasat).

• Traditional Dance (Silver): Delivered by the synchronized multi-faculty ensemble of Ridho Rizki Balebat, Egidia Indah Lestari, Rafidah Azzahrah, Ghilman Zuhud Fathoni, and Faisal Munawwar.

• Nasyid Vocal Orchestration (Silver): Captured by the vocal team of M. Dzikra Rantona, Egidia Indah Lestari, Faisal Munawwar, Agustri Ananda, and Ihza Muhammad.

The Student Affairs Chief Manager, Muhammad Furqon, M.A., explained that this initial international deployment was designed as a data-gathering mission to audit international regulations, evaluate foreign grading matrices, and map the competitive landscape among premier Southeast Asian Islamic universities.

"We intentionally entered this cycle to reverse-engineer the international benchmark systems. With these baseline performance metrics now fully logged into our database, UIN Jakarta will deploy a highly structured, long-term training architecture next semester. Our clear target for the upcoming session is to capture the overall General Championship title," Furqon asserted.
