SAFE X SIMBA 2026 was organized by the FIKES Disaster Responder Team (FDT) to improve students’ knowledge, preparedness, and skills in facing emergencies and disasters. The event carried the theme “Building Awareness and Action in Emergency Situations” and reflects FDT’s commitment to fostering a culture of disaster awareness and responsiveness on campus. The organizers emphasized that preparedness is important for minimizing risks and helping save lives when an emergency occurs.
The event was held on Sunday, 26 April 2026, at the Student Center Hall and the Student Cooperative (KopMa) field, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University. The participants were active students. The event opened with remarks from the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Ahmad Fikri Maulana, and the General Chairperson of FDT, Ernawati Janwar Lestari. The program included material presentations by speakers from the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Tangerang City, and a Nursing Science lecturer; interactive discussions; field practice; and a disaster response simulation. At 10:00 WIB, participants took part in the kentongan (traditional wooden drum) beating together with the South Tangerang City BPBD in commemoration of Disaster Preparedness Day. Participants also joined a national Zoom session led by the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), accompanied by a representative of the South Tangerang City BPBD. The event continued with a live fire simulation.
The event provided theoretical understanding and practical experience regarding preparedness, rapid response strategies, and emergency handling, particularly for fires. Through the presentations, discussions, practice, and simulations, participants are expected to become more aware, prepared, confident, and responsive when facing emergencies. The intended benefits extend beyond safety on campus to raising concern for the safety of the wider community.
