Independence Day Festival: UIN Jakarta Opens Free Public Health Check

Madya Hall, UIN Online News — In celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta conducted a complimentary health check-up event for the academic community and the general public, taking place in the Madya Hall on the first floor on Sunday (August 17, 2025).

This initiative reflects UIN Jakarta's social responsibility and dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing diseases at an early stage by deploying several qualified medical professionals with systematic procedures.

  1. Participants will choose from six provided categories of accessible healthcare services.

  2. Participants must fill in their personal details and acquire an examination queue number.

  3. Participants then will complete the registration, medical interviews, vital sign evaluations, nutritional assessments, laboratory tests, and consultations regarding test outcomes.

This program garnered significant enthusiasm from participants, who found the complimentary and informed health services beneficial, making the program fully function as a health education resource for the campus community.

Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., the Vice Rector III of UIN Jakarta, underscored the need for frequent health examinations as a crucial component of a healthy lifestyle, particularly for individuals experiencing high stress rates and demanding schedules.

"I believe that maintaining our body is essential to undertake. It aligns with the objective, which is to assist the academic community and the public in embracing a healthier lifestyle amidst the work burnout, poor diet, destructive habits, accelerated aging, and prolonged disease. If not identified promptly, regular checkups will mitigate such issues," he explained.

Dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., SpOT., FICS, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, asserted that the current health check-up initiative is a continuation of the Faculty's commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle on campus.

"This health checkup initiative has effectively become a standard internal program of the Faculty of Medicine. It is regularly conducted once per semester, engaging the entire community, including professors, administrative personnel, alumni, and their families. Especially at the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, we are so happy to be conducting this event more transparently for the broader community," he expressed.

Approximately, there are 200 people involved, comprising both academic personnel and the public, as this program was purposefully expanded to be more inclusive and accessible.

This health assessment is expected to be the first step towards better teamwork among different departments at UIN Jakarta, with the Faculty of Medicine leading efforts to improve health services on campus.

"We anticipate that future collaboration will be established among the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Public Health, and UIN-affiliated hospitals to conduct regular health assessments for the entire campus community," the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine added.

Through this complimentary health assessment, UIN Jakarta aims to enhance awareness regarding the significance of health maintenance, particularly in fostering the productivity and quality of life within the academic community.
