Inclusivity Meets Productivity: Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Holds Field Work Practice for Special Students

FITK Building, UIN Online News - Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) accepted Hafidz Adrian and Farisa Athaya, students with special needs, in the internship for Field Work Practice (PKL) on Monday (10/02/2024).

The reception event was inaugurated by the Dean of FITK, Professor Dr. Siti Nurul Azkiyah; Deputy Dean for General Administration, Dr. Yudhi Munadi; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Dr. Salamah Agung; the Head of the Administrative Section, Lin Marlina, M.M.; and the Junior Librarian, Amrullah Hasbana, M.A.

During the ceremony, Professor Siti Nurul Azkiyah underscored UIN Jakarta's mission to promote inclusivity on educational institution that is accessible to students with disabilities by involving them into educational atmosphere. "We extend a cordial welcome to Hafiz and Athaya at FITK, and we hope that this internship will enhance their skills and facilitate their preparation for a more promising future,” she said.

Athaya Farisa, a student with a hearing impairment from Special Senior High School 02 Jakarta, said that she chooses the internship program at UIN Jakarta because it provides her valuable skills in computer operation and administrative applications.

Hafidz Adrian, a student with a physical handicap from Special Senior High School 01 Lebak Bulus, confidently presented himself via his phone that his disability will not set him back to continue his education and talent growth. 

They will be assigned to the library of Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training under the supervision of the Junior Librarian, Amrullah Hasbana, M.A., and the Faculty Academic Section, Asep Saprudin, B.Ed. “We will prepare them with deskjobs that aligns with their skills which will assist them in developing their competencies,” said Amrullah.

"We glad to ensure that UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta also provides inclusive educational program," Dr. Salamah Agung, in partnership with PT. Parakerja Disabilitas, informed the  internship program at UIN Jakarta for students with special needs. The recently established partnership is anticipated to provide more possibilities for individuals with impairments, enabling them to access equal chances and acquire valuable job experience in academic and professional settings.

By admitting two special students into the PKL program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training of UIN Jakarta displays its commitment to foster the development of talents for all individuals regardless their disabilities.
