In Collaboration with IIQ and IBISRC Uzbekistan, Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Jakarta is Ready to Hold Mā Warā' al-Nahar Indofestive and ICOIS 2025
Rectorate Building, UIN News Online- Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in collaboration with the Institute of Qur'anic Sciences (IIQ) Jakarta and Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center (IBISRC) Uzbekistan is ready to hold an exhibition of art, history, and intellectuality entitled Mā Warā' al-Nahar Indofestive 2025 as well as a world-level scientific meeting International Colloquium on Islamic Studies (ICOIS) 2025. The activity will take place for two days Thursday-Friday July 3-4, 2025 at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I, UIN Jakarta.
In an official release, Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin Prof. Ismatu Ropi, M.A, Ph.D revealed, this exhibition and scientific meeting was held as part of the 1000 Cahaya Indonesia sustainable program. “This is also a follow-up to the visit of 11 delegations of researchers on Imam Bukhari's legacy to Uzbekistan last February,” he explained.
Dean Ismatu Ropi said the event would be attended by a number of academics and researchers from various universities from Indonesia and Uzbekistan. Therefore, this event is expected to be an important part of strengthening academic networks and exploring Islamic treasures that connect the scientific traditions of Central Asia with Southeast Asia, especially the archipelago.
“ICOIS 2025 presents academics, researchers, and international delegates from Uzbekistan who are delegates of the Imam Bukhari and Imam Tirmizi Sahih Hadith Narrators Study Center and Islamic Studies experts from the Imam Maturidi Research Center, as well as scientists from leading Islamic universities in Indonesia and Uzbekistan,” he explained.
The Professor of Comparative Religion added that the event is also expected to be a place of education, inspiration, and exchange of knowledge for the younger generation and the academic community as well as the community in the Jabodetabek area. “Especially the students of UIN Jakarta itself,” he added.
The two-day event will include a series of scientific presentation sessions by discussing various important topics such as the development of hadith science in Mawarannahr, tafsir al-Maturidi, the influence of Maturidiyah theological thought, to the transfer of knowledge from Central Asia to the archipelago. A number of expert speakers such as Prof. Dr. Mulyadhi Kartanegara, Prof. Dr. Shovosil Ziyodov - Director of Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, Prof. Kusmana, and various other international academics are scheduled to attend the discussion.
In addition, an exhibition will be held on the theme of Indonesia's historical journey from the era of empire, colonialism, post-independence to the diplomacy of the Indonesian nation to the global world. It is known that one of the most influential diplomacy that strengthens the emotional relationship between Indonesia-Uzbekistan and the Muslim world in general is the role of Indonesia's first President Soekarno in encouraging the discovery of Imam Bukhari's tomb in 1956.
This activity will be officially opened on July 3, 2025 at 09.00 WIB with the Opening Ceremony of Mā Warā' Al-Nahar IndoFestive 2025 & ICOIS 2025. The series continued with the International Colloquium on Islamic Scholarship (ICOIS) 2025 session, student forum, poetry musicalization appreciation stage, and the launch of art posters, Penghuni Istana comics, and Penghuni Istana soundtrack songs.
In addition, there will also be an AI literacy program with Bass Consultant Singapore and closing with the announcement of the AI Learning Course door prize in Singapore. This activity is open to the public and provides 40 AVPN Singapore AI literacy scholarships supported by Bass Training Center and Asian Development Bank.
The event was also supported by the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and presented international speakers including Dr. Jigsaw Daminov (Academy of Science of Uzbekistan), Prof. Davron Mukhtorovich Mirkasimov (First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs Republic of Uzbekistan), H.E. Oybek Usmanov (Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Indonesia), Prof. Dr. Shovkat Sirojiev (Director of Imam Bukhari International Research Center), Dr. Shokhrukh Ismoilov (Deputy Director of Imam Bukhari International Research Center), and Dr. Komilzhon Andirov (Deputy Director of Imam Termizi International Research Center).
With the grand theme Explore the Land of Imams: Exhibition of Art, History & Intellectuality of Central Asia & Indonesia, this activity is expected to foster the spirit of deep Islamic knowledge and strengthen cooperation between scientific institutions from Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
