Improving services in the health sector, UIN Jakarta collaborates with Hajj Health Center and Equilab

Rectorate, UIN News Online – To assist Hajj services in the health sector, UIN Jakarta signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) at the Rectorate Building on Thursday (09/23/2021). The first MoU was signed between UIN Jakarta and the Hajj Health Center Secretariat General of the Ministry of Health. The signing of the MoU was carried out by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and Head of the Hajj Health Center Budi Sylvana.

Meanwhile, the second MoU was signed between the Chancellor of UIN Jakarta and PT Equilab International. The MoU signing was carried out by Rector Amany Lubis and the International Equilab Operations Manager Lucia Rat Handayani.

Present in the MoU signing ceremony, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Inastitutional Development Lily Surayya Eka Putri, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Arief Subhan, AAKK Bureau Chief Jaenuddin, Dean of FK UIN Jakarta Heri Hendarto, Physician Profession Department Head Femmy Nurul Akbar and the Director of Medical Research Unit Laifa Hendarmin.

UIN Jakarta's collaboration with the Hajj Health Center and Equilab covers various fields, such as education, research, community service, and human resource development.

Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her remarks said that collaboration in Hajj health services was very strategic. Moreover, UIN Jakarta has the Syarif Hidayatullah Hajj Hospital as well as the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences. The collaboration is expected to make a positive contribution for UIN Jakarta to the community in hajj health services.

“I am very grateful for the trust given, both from the Ministry of Health and Equilab as a vaccine clinical tester,” said Rector Amany.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Hajj Health Center Budi Sylvana said that the Ministry of Health through the Hajj Health Center need to prepare any response efforts to address any possible health threats that might occur. According to Budi, with the large number of Indonesian pilgrims, health issues must be prioritized.

“We want the hajj service staff and Indonesian pilgrims to stay healthy during the pilgrimage. So, this collaboration is very important to improve Hajj health services,” said Budi.

Meanwhile, Physician Profession Department Head Femmy Nurul Akbar said that the collaboration in the Hajj health sector provides a new perspective in the field of doctor education. Therefore, the cooperation will be followed up in the form of preparing a new FK curriculum structure for students, so that they can be prepared as special doctors for Hajj Pilgrimage.

“I think this is a good opportunity. FK UIN Jakarta must also focus on the teaching system that produces prospective phicisians specifically for Hajj Pilgrimage,” said Femmy. (usa/ns)
